We are happy to announce that WTC will be opening for the 2024 season. We are currently making a few pre-season renovations and are looking forward to having a new deck. We'll continue with additional repairs as the season forms and the weather permits. Check back often for updates.
We are now accepting new members. Guest passes are available for $15 per day. 3 guest passes per person, per season. Please note that we are not offering classes or junior sessions this year. If you would like to schedule a tour of our club, give us a call at

Stay safe, stay healthy. - See you on the courts!
We don't judge you on your skill, but by how much fun you're having.
Watertown Tennis Club is the oldest continually operating clay court club in Connecticut. With newly installed clay courts and net posts, we plan on being around for many more years to come.
We have members of all ages and skillsets. Beginner and Advanced members have access to our club Pro to either learn the basics or develop the finer nuances of their game.
We are a non-profit and do our best to keep membership fees down so we can be accessible to everyone. There are no additional fees to play other than your membership. We levie a club assessment at the end of the season. This can be offset by volunteering to help with seasonal and fundraiser duties.
We hold many social events throughout the season. The money we raise is put into the upkeep of the club grounds and courts. This helps offset membership fees so we can maintain a large membership.
We have dedicated days for the men, women and also mixed doubles.

We are a fun-filled club of members who enjoy tennis. There are players of all levels & ages who all play together.
Thursday evening we sometimes have grill nights where everyone brings something to eat or drink & we throw it on our BBQ when it’s too dark to play.
We have a clubhouse with restrooms, a small kitchen, table tennis tables & lounging area.
The Watertown Tennis Club is a part of Watertown’s history and an ongoing community recreational resource for the Greater Watertown area. The Club was founded in 1908 as the Watertown Lawn Club by a number of tennis enthusiasts including members of the Heminway, Chase and Merriman families. They leased a lot of land on the corner of Warren Way and North Streets and laid out three courts described in the 1950s Watertown history as “dirt surfaced.”
Today the club’s three clay courts are the oldest in the state of Connecticut. The club is located in the town of Watertown’s designated state and federally designated historic district. In 1938 the club purchased additional land and built the historic clubhouse building that stands today. The building is described in the Historic District reports as an elegant, well-proportioned shingle style structure.
The club has always had a range of members from youth to seniors and offers opportunities for play for players ranging from beginner to advanced. In the mid-1950s tournaments brought top U.S. players such as Bobby Riggs and Bill Tilden to the club. Today the Club continues as a community resource for players of all ages and skills.
The Club is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (7) tax exempt non-profit recreational club and the Club’s operation is totally funded by member dues and special events. At present the club has about 50 members and membership is open to the community at large.
Affordable pricing with plenty of amenities.
The Watertown Tennis Club is a nonprofit organization. All members are required to help out with the daily duties of maintaining the club. Seasonal setup and cleanup, volunteering to work during fund raisers, etc. At the end of the season an assessment of $50 will be made for those that contribute less than 8 hrs. If you have no time or desire to assist with these day to day activities, you have the option to pay the $50 in advance.
